Most abandoned
Ranked by the lowest median global achievement-completion rate across each game's achievement list (10+ achievements, 500+ reviews, and a most-earned achievement that at least 10% of owners have). A low median means most players who earned at least one achievement stopped well short of the rest — that can mean players lose interest, or it can just mean the game is long. It is not a quality judgement, and it says nothing about players who never touch achievements at all.
The lowest median achievement earn-rate in the census belongs to Real Pool 3D - Poolians: across its 13 achievements the median is 0.0%, and even its most-earned achievement sits at 10.8%, on a game with 20k Steam reviews. Across the 100 games listed, the median of their own medians is 0.6%, rising to 0.9% by rank 100.
100 of the 100 listed games have a median earn-rate below 1%. Sub-1% medians are real on this list rather than rounding artifacts, so every rate on the page is shown to one decimal place. The median of the listed games' highest earn-rates is 47.7%, and 53 of them have no achievement earned by half of players or more.
"Median achievement earned by" is the median global earn-rate across the game's tracked achievements (Steam). "Ever started" is the highest earn-rate on record — typically the easiest achievement — as a proxy for how many owners launched the game at all.
How to read this page: each game's figure is the middle value of the global earn-rates Steam publishes for its individual achievements, so a game with a few trivial achievements and many demanding ones lands low whatever its review score says. We store at most the 60 most-earned achievements per game, so for games with more than 60 the median covers that most-earned subset and would be lower still across the full list. The ranking only includes games with at least 10 achievements and 500 Steam reviews. It also leaves out games whose most-earned achievement was earned by under 10% of owners: at that level we cannot tell a game nobody progressed in from one whose achievements are not being recorded, so it is not ranked. The summary above covers the rows shown rather than the whole catalog. Achievement rates describe players who engage with achievements at all, so they cannot tell you how many owners finished the story. See the methodology for how the census collects its data.
